With a background in transport planning spanning roles at City of London and Southwark Council, his current role at Lambeth has a broad remit covering all things climate change response related – from bike parking to heat pumps and major retrofit projects. Keeping a toe in Development Management and planning policy, leading on Lambeth’s transport response to Covid-19 and the climate emergency (yes, LTNs…) and developing innovative strategies and approaches to street design and engagement.
Simon’s presentation will introduce Lambeth’s Kerbside Strategy – a manifesto for rebalancing space on our streets, with equity, accessibility and sustainability at its core. The Strategy, which has generated widespread interest, fills a gap in existing local and national policy and points the way to better places and stronger communities.
